Dani Crawford, ASID, NKBA
Senior Interior Designer
With more than a decade of experience in luxury interior design, Dani brings a refined balance of creativity, organization, and material expertise to Kimmel Interiors. Her work centers on designing timeless, highly curated interiors for luxury equestrian estates, waterfront residences, and sophisticated living spaces throughout Maryland and beyond.
Dani holds degrees in Interior Design from Anne Arundel Community College and Project Management & Business Analysis from Towson University, a dual background that allows her to bring both creative vision and thoughtful planning to every project. Her ability to blend artistry with careful coordination ensures that each interior is as functional and enduring as it is beautiful.
At the heart of Dani’s design philosophy is a simple question:
“How will this feel in ten years?”
Rather than following fleeting trends, Dani focuses on timeless interior design built on enduring materials, thoughtful proportions, and layered textures. Her work often centers on waterfront homes and coastal restaurants, where interiors must feel relaxed, refined, and connected to the surrounding landscape.
Her fascination with textiles and materiality began during her academic research into historic upholstery materials, including horsehair, where she explored how traditional fibers achieved remarkable longevity. Today, this curiosity continues to inform her approach to luxury fabrics, custom furnishings, and richly layered material palettes.
Whether designing a luxury waterfront estate or boutique hospitality space, Dani focuses on creating interiors that feel deeply personal and effortlessly sophisticated. Her spaces prioritize atmosphere, comfort, and authenticity—environments designed to support everyday life while reflecting the individuality of the people who live in them.
As Dani often says:
"A room should be felt before it is seen.
It isn't just about decoration. It is about creating a backdrop for your life."
Outside the studio, Dani finds inspiration through travel, art, and historic gardens, including visits to world-renowned landscapes such as Monet’s Garden in Giverny. At home in Maryland, she is a devoted mother to her three children—AJ, Penelope, and her youngest daughter—where family life revolves around cooking together, movie nights, and staying active through sports.
Dani’s Interior Design Essentials
A glimpse into the materials, textures, and philosophies that shape her approach to luxury interior design.
The “Ten-Year” Textile
Dani favors natural fibers such as linen, wool, and mohair, materials known for their durability and graceful aging. Her early research into traditional upholstery fibers reinforced her belief that the most beautiful interiors are built on materials that improve with time.
Waterfront Living
For coastal and waterfront interiors, Dani carefully selects finishes, fabrics, and furnishings that complement expansive views while maintaining comfort and durability, ensuring that waterfront homes remain both elegant and livable.
Tactile Layers
Following her belief that a room should be “felt before it is seen,” Dani layers honed stone, brushed metals, natural woods, and woven textiles to create warmth, depth, and quiet luxury.
The Backdrop
Philosophy
Dani believes great interiors provide a beautiful foundation for life to unfold. Her designs create calm, sophisticated environments where family, memory, and daily living take center stage.
